“Why..why me?” Teardrops pricked her eyes as her lips quivered.

“Look at those plump cheeks, those brown eyeballs carrying an ocean of worries, those cute little mountains of pimples…he must have been mesmerized by your beauty.” Niti replied with a cocky grin, sitting near Ana in her cabin.

“All these are like a joke to you, huh? I am dying out of anxiety.”

“Oh, Ana, which one do you prefer Sunrise or Moonrise hospital? Hehe.”Niti laughed hard.

Anarkali took a pen and threw it at her. Niti immediately cupped her mouth as the pen hit her chest. She writhed in sharp pain.

“Why can't you just console me?”

“It's going to be okay. That man is following you for not returning his ballpoint pen which you borrowed from him when he was in his mother's womb..bullshit. I can't fake things as the situation is grave. We need to solve this mystery rather crying like babies.”

“Says the girl who said she would be the first one to faint.” Anarkali wiped her tears, as a smile rose at the tips of her lips.

“Ah, you smiled finally. From yesterday night onwards, your face was clouded. Even at night while sleeping, you blabbered, 'please, don't do this', something like that.”

“I just don't know. These things are driving me crazy!” Anarkali gasped.

“I am here for you. I haven't forgotten the way you helped me from the day I joined here, Ana.” Niti's gaze fell on her eyes, like rays of hope.

“And yeah, Ana I may faint in front of him but only after breaking his head. I have a fear for blood, that's why.” Niti winked at her as a surge of laughter whipped the veil of tension.

“Do I look like a genie? I would have climbed Mount Everest twice with these efforts.” Hovering through the piles of files stacked in front of her, Anarkali exclaimed.

She felt something behind her.

“Varun, I told you not to do this.” Without looking back she said as his reflection yelled from the small mirror artwork placed in her desk.

Varun, her boss, was standing behind her, catching the glimpses of her movements! “I..I am sorry, Ana. I just…”

“Feel free to call me ‘Anarkali’. If you want to ask about that hoodie guy, I don't know anything. And also no need to be protective of me. I know to take care of myself!” She blurted out, venting her fury at him as she stood facing him.

“If I won't then who, Ana? The more fierce you are, the more you make me fall for you.” Clenching her hands, Varun said in gritted teeth.

“Varun...Leave...Leave my hand..” She scowled at him, trying to free her hands but everything was in vain under his strong grip.

“Boss, Rithvika ma'am needs you in her cabin,” Niti said panting, which was a lie, as she ran from her cabin to save Ana.

Niti hugged her. Anarkali's eyes brimmed in agony.

“Ana, Varun went earlier and has given me his workload as a punishment for lying about Rithvika ma'am's call. Don't wait for me.”

Anarkali was waiting for Niti for almost half an hour at the ground floor of their company when Niti's message came.

“Ugh...I will kill that bastard Varun.” Gritting her teeth, Anarkali stomped out of the main gate. She was in the midst of a deserted street.

She was walking briskly until she saw a long shadow strolling behind her. The 'tik-tik' sound started pounding in her chest. Her heart beats soar, magnifying the terror making her spine froze.

She was about to sprint but suddenly a hand pushed her to the ground. The black hoodie guy!

Her body was paralyzed, her blood vessels burst drenching her in agony. Cold breeze crept through her face as she saw the glare of a pair of eyes, peeking through the slits of the hoodie!

“It's you….Dhruvvv..” Anarkali screamed out but those words were arrested by her vocal chord.

“Ana..” Niti was sprinting towards Anarkali. The guy turned back and ran away through the pocket road.

“Are you okay?” Niti held her tightly.

“Niti…it’s..it's Dhruv! My nightmare! Those blue eyes..…”

“Yeah, even Varun has blue eyes! I want to tell you something, Anarkali. I found out a piece of important information.”
