Elora and her cats

Elora, a 3rd grader was managing well with her friends, family and studies. She was unaware that something was gonna change her life in positive terms.

One Sunday morning, she found a little kitten in the rusty cooler lying next to the neighbour's house. It was the first time she saw a baby kitten and that excitement could be seen in her eyes. She rushed in to her mom asking for something to feed the kitten. Elora's mom was also quite happy to see that cute little creature. She brought some milk for her. The kitten was drinking the milk and meowing too. Elora never found someone so cute and attractive. Meanwhile Elora's mom was looking for the baby kitten's mom. That rusty place wasn't quite a safe place for her to reside. The dogs used to come there. Elora's mom thought of something and brought her in. Elora completely unaware of this was sleeping peacefull.The next morning she went to school but was continuously thinking about that kitten. When she came back home she was astonished.

To her surprise she saw that baby kitten with her mom and two more kitten's. The whole felidae family was resting in a cardboard box filled with old clothes to provide warmth. Elora was so happy to see those cats and so was Richard, her brother. The two kids ran towards the kitten's . It was very exciting to see them sleeping like cute dolls. They were not allowed to touch the cats. The kids finished the lunch as soon as they could and ran to the garden to have a pleasant sight of them.

WELCOME TO THE NAMING CEREMONY

The kitten's were now to be named. The eldest of them was named Tommy. He was Elora's favourite because of his playful nature. Then came Tommy's little sister Kitty. The youngest of them was named Dew. She was the one to be seen at first in the cooler. Their mom was named Pussy.

Elora's dad was not quite fond of cats. But after seeing the kids so happy he started adjusting to it.

Days passed happily for Elora and Richard.. but after a few days Dew died. It was a day full of tears for Elora. But the next day everything was back to normal. Tommy and Kitty forced Elora to smile. Now Tommy, Kitty Pussy, Elora and Richard were a squad. Everyday they played and gradually Elora started holding Tommy. She was a little scared of Pussy initially but eventually she adjusted with all of them.

Pussy was teaching her children every skill they were supposed to have. Be it catching birds, climbing walls, balancing and jumping.. it was like an army training.. the kitten's were now 7 months old. Pussy was now ready to leave them alone to start their lives independently without mommy's support. Pussy now used to not return home on consecutive days. Tommy and Kitty used to look for her all night without even a moment of sleep. Pussy now stopped coming back home. Probably her motive was to make the cats forget about her. Tommy and Kitty were now grown ups. They were strong enough to even fight with the dogs.

It has been 7 years Tommy and Kitty are living with Elora and her family. They are now a family. The cats have an adventurous life and are living happily.
