His True Love

"No! I will never leave her!" he exclaimed with feeling as he argued with his son.

His mind went back to the day he first saw his one true love. It happened innocently enough, a week and a day after he got married, he saw her. He was speechless and for him it was love at first sight.

He would always try to sneak away with her. He had found his true love, but his wife complained. It was but natural he thought, women were jealous creatures.

So he turned a blind eye to her protests and continued spending time with his new found love. When he could, he would take her out on long enjoyable rides.

He thought that if his wife had a son, she would allow him to be with his one true love. But she always would find some way or another to point it out.

She said that this love of his would end in naught. He would throw his head back and laugh at the very thought.

Twenty years flew by, he never stopped loving her, his love affair only grew in depth and intensity.

He went to see her today. She was there waiting for him, obviously older than what she used to be. He looked at her and touched her lovingly and smiled.

She had always being there for him all these years, so faithful.

"Dad! It's no good! You have to stop this. You have to let her go." His son told him, but he was not willing to listen.

"Your mother sent you to tell me this didn't she?" he scoffed.

"Dad! the pollution this ancient old bike produces is well over the regulation limit. You must try this new E-scooter. It is environment friendly and easy to use."

The new E-scooter ended up becoming the new love of his life. His wife simply rolled up her eyes and sighed.
