Life Happened In The Waiting Room ( Part I)

Miracles transpire in your life when you least expect them to appear. Destiny dupes you around at its finger trip when you have your expectations set exceedingly high. Life had given me a chance to give wings to my dream by allowing me to manifest my paintings in the art gallery which could have been golden moments of my life, but the delay in the train had seemed to capsize it all.

As I sat down in the waiting room of the railway station, profaning on the train, I was supposed to board it to be late due to some unavoidable situation Had no scantiest idea, that my destiny was on time, to show me what it had stored for me.

Being a painter never comes so easy, creating emotions to touch the soul of the viewer is daunting. The struggle is inevitable and challenging when you need to save your dream for your loved ones. Disheartened by missing out the opportunity, everything seemed to fall apart pain finds it is the path through eyes, rolling down the cheek. At that very moment when I was drowned in the lake of sorrows with my eyes closed, I felt the touch of soft small hands on my hands, what my eyes saw was a small angel-like girl giving her innocent smile, the smile which can brighten your mind, just like what rainbow does to the sky.

Do you know my Dadu always says, when your plan does not work, God's best plan works for you, which is far better than your plan?

I do not know the cause of your tears but excuse me for glancing the artwork in your bag, can I share with you these are a beautiful piece of work done by you. And Di, they are beautiful as you are, and my Chachu says pretty girls like you and me should not cry, it takes away their charm. That innocent soul touched my heart, her persona itself was so influential that it swept me off the feet, vanished my tears replacing it with a smile. Di, if it is Ok with you, would you like to sketch mine, my family says I am lucky, you never know your wish may come true, she said with a cute smile.

It would be my honor to draw the cute little angel, take your seat near that opposite window, light is good that side, let me try to do justice to my work.

As I turned sideways towards my bag to take out my drawing tools, I heard the noise of the crutches touching the floor, making their presence felt in those 4 walls. The noise caught my attention to turn back to know the source of the noise and all I could see was my little angel was moving towards the opposite windows holding tightly both the crutches to make her way.

Seeing this I almost dropped my drawing tools, it felt as if my breathing stopped, I rushed towards her to hug her, to support her to sit, to my astonishment my brave little angel took the seat near the window, carefully placing the crutches next to her.

As I sat next to her with tears in my eyes, she wiped my tears with her hands and said, these crutches are my supporting pillar, make sure they come in the canvas beautifully. Only I could do was given a nod to her, words had lost their path, my drawing tool was in my hand which found its path on my canvas.

As I started to sketch I realized irrespective of the various noises in the waiting room, it seemed silence took over the entire room, my model sat there like a statue, smile on her face, the spark in her eyes seemed to have lit the entire room. Finally, I was almost done with the sketch of my angel and was about to show the final work, a noise interrupted, and I saw a male and female figure approaching angel and taking her away from me.

Till the time I was about to interrupt the male figure held my angel on her shoulder, the female figure took the crutches and made their way out in a rush. Within a fraction of second, it looked everything was like a dream, I too rushed out, chasing them, but to disappointment, I lost them in the crowd.

Few years down the line, in an international painting award event, the winner of the International Golden Peacock Painting award goes to incredibly talented and beautiful Miss Aahana Sharma from India for her piece of work (sketch) titled"Life happened in the Waiting Room".
