Maa

In early 2011 we went to Pune by Kingfisher Airlines. It was a late evening flight that was supposed to reach Pune by approximately 9 p.m. We were then staying in Noida.

We boarded the flight and were off but all of a sudden after 20 minutes of flying there was an announcement that due to a technical snag, the aircraft would be going back to Delhi. All the passengers were in discomfort till the plane landed safely in the Capital.

It was already 8 p.m. by the time we vacated the aircraft and were waiting for the next announcement. Everyone had an anxious face- what if we cannot board another flight the same evening?

Finally, we were told to board another ready aircraft, and by the time it was on the runway, night had fallen. We reached Pune passed midnight. Maa and the others were staying in Navi Mumbai.

The day before I had spoken to Maa and told her that after we reach Pune, I would call her the next morning as she goes off to sleep by 9 p.m.

But look at her intuition, she sensed something wrong and kept on asking my younger brother to find out if we reached Pune. He told her not to worry and to wait for the next morning. But she couldn’t sleep and almost sat the whole night on her bed. Early in the morning as she was an early riser, I called her at 6 a.m. and then she came to know about the ordeal and the unpleasantness which we had to go through. She breathed a sigh of relief that finally all were safe. Further, she told me that now she would go to sleep.

I wonder what power God has given to the mothers that they can sense everything especially when something goes wrong and do not rest till, she finds her children to be safe.
