Dear Diary,

Today is Ugadi, the new year for the Kannadigas in my community. The day started with me putting the kolam in front of our apartment. Decorating the front door with fresh mango leaves and neem leaves. Then as a daily duty cleared the old flowers and put the new flowers for the Gods in the pooja room, the ones we got from a lone flower seller in the usually busy Malleswaram market due to the lockdown and social distancing.

Next came the cooking part with me and my husband decide what to cook with the limited supplies. Finally decided to cook raw mango rice, sweet Pongal and the usual sambar and rice. This helped us have a good lunch and a nice nap afterward on the day.

I had my online violin class with my Guru.

So the day was pooja, food, nap, and music.

Good day - waiting for the next day.
