THE RECKLESS PARENTS - Day 20 - recreate Panchatantra stories

There used to be a time when ‘teachers’ or ‘gurus’ were worshipped. But now, few people treat teachers and their occupation, as something which is easy, is insignificant and is done only when people don’t have a job and want to earn some money. There is a quote by ‘Albert Einstein’ stating that, “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge”. During this Pandemic, a lot of schools have started online/home schooling where children can stay at home an learn through an online platform. A relative of mine even said that, “If you are tired oof your usual job you can quit it and start teaching.”

One day, during our online class, we were asked to open our books to start studying. But as it is an online platform few students were chatting in the group. Mam stopped the writing session then and there. Mam called out few students’ names and asked them why they were chatting in the group. Mam, was calmly asking them why they were chatting in the group. But, the students whom called out didn’t respond as they were really scared. Mam even said them that she would kick them out of the meeting if they didn’t respond. All the students responded except for two of them. Mam kicked them out of the meeting.

During that time, I asked a question which I shouldn’t have. As mam was angry, she explained to me in an angry way. But I didn’t feel bad as I knew my teacher liked me and was angry with the other students, not me. But when the class got over, I told my mom about it. She said to me not to take it to heart as mam was a bit angry at other students. But, in the evening when we say the A & B group on WhatsApp, a parent had raised the concern of teachers going to harsh on students, and sent the video of the conversation between my teacher and I. My mom said to me to be quiet even though we knew it was not right. Few parents tried to console parents who raised the concern, but after three days it stopped. I thought as a student I should inform the teacher what was going in the chat for the past few days. Right after I informed mam, she was called by our coordinator. The next day, our teacher was really sad about what we did.

After that day, all the parents learned their lesson. They never did anything recklessly again, against our teachers.
