The next morning Amanda and I were heading downstairs, she told me we were all going to spend the day at the country club so we had both gotten dressed before heading downstairs.

Walking down the stairs, she wasn't lying about the house being busy, women and men are everywhere, hanging things and cleaning, I try to give them enough room and walk around them as we walk through the living room and I see two older people, dressed nice as hell sitting on the couch.

"Sweetheart" a woman cried as soon as she seen Amanda, jumping off the couch, she rushes to Amanda pulling her into her arms.

"Hey momma" she says, smiling when her mom kisses her on her cheek. "You did a wonderful job with all this. It's already looking so beautiful baby I can't thank you enough."

"We are lucky to have her as our daughter" a man comes up and pulls both women into a hug.

"You always say that daddy but I'm lucky to have all as my parents" she says before hugging him too, throwing her arms around both of her parents.

I stand awkwardly to the side not wanting to ruin their little reunion and watching the three of them together makes me miss my parents so much more. I'll have to visit them soon, maybe for Christmas?

"Momma and Daddy, this is Isabella. My new friend I told you both about" Amanda tells her parents causing them both to look at me, and I just hope they are not judging me, I'm definitely down dressed compared to the three of them, both women looking like the fresh off the runway and I on the other hand look like I belong with the workers that are dashing around us.

"It's nice to meet you, dear." The father says, immediately making me feel so much better, there isn't a trace of judgment in his tone and that makes me feel so relieved.

"Yes. Thank you for coming and celebrating our Anniversary with us" the mother says and sends me a soft smile, now I know where Amanda gets it from.

I don't know what I thought I would be coming here, I definitely didn't expect to be welcomed with open arms but the three of them are completely pulling me in and acting like our different backgrounds don't matter.

"Are you both ready to head out? It's getting a little crowed in here and I would love to spend some time together" her momma asked us, and we both nodded our heads, letting her know we are ready when she is.

"Excellent. I'm starving. We can catch a late brunch" the father says, widening his hands, waves towards the door and he follows behind us.

A limousine is waiting at the bottom steps as we walk outside the house, and I'm taken back a bit. Do they always travel like this, but my question is stopped inside my head as I hear Amanda's mother talking to her father.

"Oh, Henry! I told you I didn't want a limousine. It's a waste of money and we don't need that just to go 10 minutes down the road" she huffs out turning her head towards her husband giving him a look, a look that says she isn't happy about it.

"Now, now, Ellen. I told you whatever you said wasn't going to change my mind. It's our anniversary and whenever we go this weekend it's going to be in that dang limousine" He snorts out but pulls the women into his arms before kissing her on the lips, I think I should turn away and give them some privacy.

"It is our anniversary... 45 years" the mother hums out and I see her resolve weakening as she looks up towards her husband who sends her a little smirk back knowing he won the little argument to be.

"You deserve it, momma. You both do. Come on. Let's go. I'm hungry" Amanda playfully nudges her arm against her mother's side and smiles at her.

"You always take his side" the mother tells Amanda before pulling her daughter into her arms once again.

"I don't. We just both happened to agree on the same thing" Amanda tells her mom as she shoots a wink towards her dad behind her mom's back and I close my lips tightly so the laugh doesn't come out.

"Alright, let's go." The mother finally gives up and slides herself into the limousine, after the father opened the door for her.

He follows her inside and Amanda and I join them, as soon as I take my seat across from Amanda's parents, I take a second to look around, I have never been inside of a limousine before, the seats make a large circle, leaving space on the floor in between, soft lights flow along the top of the roof.

10 minutes later we got to the country club and I'm completely speechless, it's like you would imagine something like this to be, I see a large tennis court and a pool. Her father led us into a small restaurant where we ordered our late breakfast.

As I'm walking, following behind them, I can't help but feel people's eyes on me, probably judging the outfit I chose to wear today, Amanda is wearing a skirt and a light pink shirt and I'm wearing my black shorts and grey shirt.

"Hello. What would you all like this morning?" The waiter says pulling out his small notebook, getting ready to right our orders down.

"We would both like two fried eggs each, and a side of vegetables" the father orders for him and his wife.

"I'll have your spinach omelet" Amanda says, laying the menu down and sliding it across the table slowly.

I give the waiter time to write that down and when his done he turns towards me, waiting for mine.

Why does everything have to be so darn expensive? Just one egg is 5 dollars. Goodness, I'm going to go broke soon, hopefully my check hit last night, I didn't even check to see.

The pancakes are 3 for 10 so that's what I'll get, it's the cheapest for the most food.

"I'll have the pancakes, please" I say, feeling a bit uncomfortable as I slide my menu over to join Amanda's.

"It will all be out in a minute" the waiter tells us before disappearing away from our table.

Those darn pancakes better be worth the 10 dollars, if I got paid then I'll happily enjoy my food, Claiborne apparently pays his employees good, I'm getting 1,500 a week, that's probably because I'll be at his call whenever he needs something and most likely it's for things like the coffee, I had gotten him the other morning.
