"Potatoes again?"

I asked Darren. He took me back upstairs and laid the plate down in the cage with me. I stared at it. Don't get me wrong, I was hungry but I was fed up of looking at potatoes. I hated them, so for the very first time I spoke up.

"What's wrong with them?"

Darren pulled a chair over to the bed and sat down on it. I don't know why I asked him if there was something else to eat but I had found some inner strength.

"I hate them. Is there another option?" I looked up at him and he grinned. "Yeah. There's chicken."

"Can I have that please." I was starting to feel sick when I would look at them. I moved the plate to the side and looked down at the red covers on the bed.

"Sure."

Picking up the plate, he took it out of the room and locked the door from the other side. Ten minutes later he laid a plate filled with vegetables and chicken in front of me and I thanked him.

"Anytime."

He took the seat next to the bed and a knock on the door caught our attention as he smirked at me.

"Yeah. Come in."

Darren glanced over his shoulder as a man entered the room in a tux. I dropped my head down and focused on the food that I was given. I was trying hard to cut the food with a plastic spoon. It wasn't easy and I knew why he gave me them. So that I couldn't attack him with them. Plus, they would have snapped if I tried to stab him with them.

"She truly is beautiful isn't she." The man commented as he closed the door over entering the room. Darren shook his head.

"No. She's not as good as Bri downstairs."

Now that was a a slice to the throat. I didn't expect it to hurt as much as it did. I breathed in deeply holding back the tears. That was the most painful one yet.

"If you say so. Erm, your brother needs your help."

"He's not getting it." Darren turned around and crossed his arms over his chest. The man smiled at me waving his hand.

"Hi."

"Hi." I mumbled waving my hand as I focused on my food. I was still fighting back my tears as I sat silently listening to Darren having a conversation about why he didn't want to help his brother. He really did have no heart. A nasty piece of work in my books. I couldn't carry an ounce of respect for him at all and I was a girl who gave everyone a chance. He had hit my limit. This boy couldn't be saved. I still didn't know why he had taken me but it was the most testing months of my life. Trying to be happy was impossible for me. I didn't even get through the food when he picked me up, launched me over his shoulder and carried me out of the room. The man followed closely behind closing the door behind us. He carried me down the stairs to the ballroom and placed me down on the floor next to the bar before grabbing a cuff and snapping it around both of our wrists.

"Still stuck with me bitch."

He told me laughing as another woman approached us. I looked at the bar. I was a trapped animal but everyone inside that room was a witness. Did I expect anyone to speak up? No. They didn't have a care in the world. They were selfish and I could see the way that they were looking me up and down. I was a piece of trash to them.

"Oh if it isn't you. The woman who I want to kill more than anyone."

Darren rolled his eyes as I glanced over to see a blonde haired, blue eyed woman staring up at him with a glass of champagne in her right hand. She was wearing a black dress too. I was the odd one out.

"Darren. If it isn't you."

She smiled and he snapped himself to look down at me, then turned his back to her.

"Darren?"

I could hear the uncertainty in her voice. He rotated his hand around in the air ignoring her until he snapped his head around to face her.

"Go and sort out all of this shit before I place a sizzling hot bullet in your chest."

The woman nodded her head and walked away from us as quickly as she could in her black heels. He laughed and placed his right hand underneath my jaw guiding my head up to look at him.

"Brandy?" He was smiling and I nodded my head. Once again, I didn't know how to take him. He was a mystery to me. He was all smiles and laughter one second and the next he was vicious and unpredictable. I didn't know where I stood with him.

"Yes fucking please!" He shouted and I nodded my head jumping. "Yes please."

"Of course my dear. Ay, Rodary a stack of ten. Five for my sensual slut here and five for me."

I blinked on the spot as he pulled out a box of cigarettes and lit one. Holding his cigarette in his mouth, he pushed the box inside his suit jacket before tugging at it so that it didn't have any creases.

"Darren!"

His mother appeared on my left with her arms crossed. She looked mortified. To be honest, I wanted to laugh because her expression was priceless. Still, I managed to stop my straight lips from rising at the sides. I felt more safe when she was around. She gave me this motherly vibe, not the same as my mum but more like my friends parents. A memory entered my mind. The day that I went to my friends house and her mum ordered us a takeout. We sat in the living room talking about ghost stories all night until she walked me home. She was kind and sweet. I loved her because she had the most amazing personality.

"For fucks sake! Can a man ever get some peace around here?" Darren rolled his eyes and sighed. Taking a toke of his cigarette, he blew out a cloud of smoke. It travelled across the room towards his mother as he grabbed an ashtray and placed his cigarette down inside it.

"This poor girl." She grabbed our cuffed hands and raised them up. Darren shrugged his shoulders grabbing a glass of brandy and passing it to me.

"Goos."

Darren stated and his mother nodded her head before turning around and walking away. I turned my head on the side watching her. I was more confused again. What the hell is going on?
