Deceitful Appearances

Secluded he stood in darkness,

Trying to enkindle the light within

Waiting for HER to love him.

One day, came his masked Archangel,

Her deceitful eyes as deep as the ocean,

Her tresses into braids skilfully woven.

Perfect to entrap anyone;

searching for her with wanton eyes.

Serpent like she walked towards him,

pressed gently on his cushioned hands,

ran fingers down his spine and,

produced him a glass of wine. 

Witnessing this, his eyes shine. 

Seductively whispered in his ears

Awakening his hidden fears! 

Lifted him up and carried him away;

A secluded place she took him to.

Terror turned ice cold when he saw-

A dreadful place with coffins below! 

Quivering, he looked at her,

While maliciously she looked at him;

A satanic smile formed at her lips.

A syringe of venom she gently introduced.

Like fish without water he groaned;

twisted through and through.

Finally, death took over.

Avenged and contented, she removed her mask, 

And came to light, a note hung on carcass: 

"Judge not by the cover for the looks can deceive you.

Peep deep into the heart, the poorest shall appeal too."
