A Drop

A drop of rain is,

Like a sudden knock at the door.

Which I feel odd a bit,

For I always wake because of it.

Rains arrival, I awaited with pleasure,

Drops became my treasure.

When the first drop hit my head.

Pure excitement was spread.

Came down suddenly it started to pour,

My heart and spirit began to soul.

Rain is something completely pure,

Nourishment it will ensure.

Rain is something we should not avoid,

When it's sprinkling, it should be enjoyed.

When rain is scarce, we pray and cherish,

But when there's too much, we're afraid that we'll perish.

When you're completely drenched,

Run quickly home, holding hands that are clenched.
