On The Bank Of The River
On The Bank Of The River
Playing with the dust,
Breathing the fresh air,
Swimming in the river,
I became an Adonis
From a child.
Plucking flowers from marigold
To pelting the mango of the mango tree,
I matured to the immatureness of life.
The village gave its every essence for my happiness.
Traditions and customs
That it made compulsory united inhabitants irrespective of caste
And religion.
Ploughing the field with cattle,
Milking the cow,
Playing with the calf,
Drinking water from the pots were the jobs I used to accomplish with ease.
No tension,
Was the given mantra.
In the night, mother village used to send breeze to cuddle me while asleep
On the bank of the river was the richest gift of my life
