Huge And Humble

The long trunk, Bell shaped ears and the Ivory tusks bling

These are a few of my favourite things 

"Do you know what elephants are like? Think ??

They are like people only more so" in every blink 

They are Nature's master pieces, 

Gentle and with no Ego.

Their majestic gait, the ambling walk in a motion so slow 

The female elephants rule the herds and are gentle like the cows 

While the males live in isolation, only to fulfill their vows 

The young ones are called calves, raised by the female force 

And stick to their dear mothers always free from their woes 

The trumpeting sound, loud and lasting, that can shake the earth below 

They have a phenomenal memory, and so can never forget their friend or foe 

But their love for each other makes for reunions to and fro 

They are emotional mammals, with feelings high and low 

No wonder they seek and give love wherever they go.

You cannot win an elephant through forceful blows

They will keep you at a distance, if you are cross and sore 

The elephant leaves it's tracks on the muddy path as it walks 

For others to follow without any difficulties in their paths 

In life or death, it can only give it's best 

God's lovely creation is for all of us to follow in zest.
