The Promises We Make

We may say "I promise"

But what do those words really mean? 

They are a way of evoking faith and trust

Not meant to be kept incomplete and unworthy 

However, how often do you keep your words? 

Because when you don't, it terribly hurts

You give the person in front of you a reason to smile 

But later on you clearly deny 

Promise is a strong word, mate

Do not use it wrong or you fill face a bitter fate 

The fake ones do not really last

Once you make them, it's just the start
