Driftwood
Driftwood
Like a driftwood sailing on a wave
Shorn of pretence, only being brave,
Celebrate shall I when I get tossed
Onto my favourite beach, like a lover sloshed
Like driftwood, its emotions clogged
Life is such, it compels each of us here
Answer questions, without shedding a tear
Like driftwood, impaled on a spear
Darkness envelopes the depth of my mind
I have always wondered, am I one of a kind
Like driftwood, alone and blind
To bear the weight of this endless suffering
Is this a facade, must I keep smiling?
Like driftwood, lost and yet gliding
I shall reach for you, oh you the devilish one
A war cry so loud, it will reach the sun
Like driftwood, enduring and stubborn
I dare you hence, don't shove me as you wish
I will trudge and trod, until I finish
Like driftwood, in a battle or a skirmish
The proverbial last laugh belongs to the unbroken
Driftwood turned and tossed, though unsunken
The air of victory will waft through the air
The scream of my pain shall inspire everyone in their lair
Like driftwood, sailing on a wave
