Change Is Mine

Today is the re-match.

The second chance,

The new life,

My time,

The time for a revival.

Oh, how I remember that day,

The day of absolute hell,

How I recklessly challenged him,

And how badly I fell.

But, I have changed,

And Bygones have gone by.

So, here I am again,

Shooting for the sky.

“The challenger is here”,

Says he, taunting me.

His smile, that smile,

That had haunted me in the past.

But now is now,

And so we start,

The same moves,

From past ago.

A simple move,

That I make,

Has him running for ground,

The smile no longer so profound.

“What?” is what he says,

His expression of surprise,

The challenger had taken the win,

And all that I could say,

“For Change is mine,

And loss yours.”
