Thick Water With Thicker Blood
Thick Water With Thicker Blood
You ask me what the rain reminds me of,
But I can't tell you,
I can't tell you.
How will I when every time I see the sky fall,
I mourn the death of the bygone,
For rain is rain because it wipes off my memories,
As it does to the blood.
Rain reminds me of forgetting.
Don't tell me otherwise.
Because I know you,
That rainy night all you saw was water
Water dripping down my face.
But I could smell the blood trickling down my thighs
And I remember how thicker blood mixing with thicker puddle water
Made me slip so many times
That the shadow almost caught up to me again.
So when I see the sky fall
I mourn the death of the bygone
For like every drop falling
Resembles every drop of blood
I was made to bleed that night,
And every roof it patters,
I remember the laughter of the shadow
Rejoicing in having caught a fresh one
On how tight it felt
And how warm
But all I felt was cold.
So be it what rain serves your memory
Be it comfort, be it peace
Be it embrace of the loved,
To me, rain always reminds of forgetting,
Because who wouldn't wish to forget
Being torn apart
Like the sky by lightning?
The clouds cry for a reason,
So don't tell me otherwise.
