I was not like that

I was always a selfless person, someone who used to think for others more than my own self. But now, when I see myself, I know what's good for me and what is not.

Somewhere or the other people come and go and teach something that we don't recognise in the first place. But then, time makes us realise why did that happen to us. There is a 100% possibility that you still love someone but you don't want them anymore in your life. Not because of any kind of revenge or ego, but because you know whats better for you, you know what you deserve, and you know the true value of yourself. Invest your efforts in someone who cares for them, not for a person who is

just there according to their needs.

That void of their absence has made you a better person for someone else. Sounds weird, but it is what it is. Your love needs love too, save it for someone who deserves it.
