Bapu! You have taught us to be placid

You have given us the persuasion of concordance.

You are not only a messiah but also a paladin

You have accustomed us to the true meaning of verity

And that of passive resistance

You have sent for a revolution

Not with guns and sticks but with peace.

You are undoubtedly authoritative

And we honor you

For you have given us exemption

Not only from the British but
