Merry As Cricket
Merry As Cricket
Cric Cric Cricket, Don't throw your wicket
The stadium is resounding with this mantra
Both the teams evenly matched
Tooth for tooth and eye for an eye match
Swearing, taunting and a nail-biting snatch
As the game opens up, here a four and there a six
And lo! comes the bouncer with a super quick fix
It's just not cricket everyone makes noise
And thunderous applause from the home team drowns the cries
Whatte' cricket match! Exclaims one fan
Oh No!! We are on the sticky ground, buck up, common man!!!
The hysteria, the fervour the, joy and the high this game creates
Probably no other game could as much generate
From a six-year-old boy to a sixty-year senior
The cricket fever is the same in all juniors
If there is a feeling of belongingness anywhere in the game of cricket
If there is a feeling of identity with the flag's spirit
and if there is an emotion of patriotism in people hearts
We get to see this in the cricket maidan
Wish we had the same excitement and enthusiasm
In building a Nation with a strong Nationalism
Cricket is called a gentleman's game
There is so much hard work, name, and fame
And of course, the unity, bonding and camaraderie is a must
And in every international game played, love for the country is utmost.
Be it the border force gun wielding jawan
Or the bat swinging swanky sportsman
The Nation matters more, and the Flag is at their heart's core
Both fight and play for the countrys honour of course
Every citizen's proud moment, in war or game
Is the National pride hoisted at the Victory's claim
