Up, Up And Away!!!!

What if one were winged Icarus,

Or Gilgamesh, bane of banes?

Or maybe the son of Fulgur,

Heracles of lion-manes?

Maybe one was dusty Adam,

Born of dust and born to trust.

Plucked a fruit from tree that mattered,

Thus committed transgression first.

Is it wrong to seek the heavens,

Or chase an eternal life?

Free of ailments, free of misery,

Free of fear and free of strife.

Seeking knowledge is no sin,

Ignorance is certainly one.

Better live enlightened short lives,

Than dole out a pitiful span.

Know thyself, and know thy kin,

Know it all before you die,

Chances are a hound finds heaven,

Heroes on their way may die.
