My Dreamworld

My Dreamworld

As I went to bed last night,

I dreamt of a wonderful sight!

I was in a beautiful mansion,

Relaxing by the pool, without any tension.

Hired helps were all over the place,

Cleaning it up till it shone like a palace.

There were some who handled food,

And some more who ensured I dressed good.

Endless lawns spread out the front,

Had a flowing fountain ancient.

Trees lined up all around the property,

Which enhanced the Beauty of the scenery.

I was the beautiful Princess there,

Suitors came to meet me from everywhere.

Some brought me flowers and some brought me rings,

In the hope of becoming my Prince charming.

There was a huge dinner and dance,

Each man waiting eagerly for his chance.

I took my time and picked only few,

They weren't all that humble I knew.

After an hour I was about to quit,

When I noticed someone at the exit.

I quickly ran to check him out,

As he reached the water's spout.

Oh my my! What a handsome man!

I instantly became his crazy fan.

Tall and young, with big blue eyes,

Dressed like a gentleman with bow and tie.

As he saw me he took my hand,

Dancing smoothly to the tunes of the band.

Quite soon he pulled me by my wrist,

I just knew I was about to be kissed.

Just as I thought it was about to begin,

I heard my morning alarm ring.

Exasperated I switched it off,

That morning was such a turn-off.

As I rose I got back to my world,

Had beds to make and quilts to fold.

This place does get to my head,

Every night as I go to bed.

I live and work here as a maid,

Cooking food and making lemonade.

Yet very often my eyes gleam,

Thinking about that wonderful dream!
