One Person One Vote
One Person One Vote
For many Years the country was under a foreign rule
Free now, the young-old country was discovering itself
“One person, one vote
Can I bring a positive change,” pondered few
Some countrymen were enthusiastic
Most were skeptic
“The winners will tax
And accumulate with our money,” they said
Governments came and went
Still, the views of some never changed
Times changed
Eclipses became more than a superstition
Awareness improved, live telecasts reigned
The Aware educated the others
A new crop, less skeptical
More confident and positive emerged
“Democracy it is and we will participate,” they said
We will be the change we want to be
Then, the world gaped overwhelmed
At the biggest democratic exercise in history.
