21st Feb 2038, a 11 year old girl who is on the verge of bidding adieu has tears rolling down her eyes. She hadn't flown her flight of life and was counting her breaths which would cease any second. She was suffering from COPD. Below her hand lay a torn note from her diary which had a poem which she began to read to herself:

After annihilating the beauty of this planet,

We were left gasping for a gust of clean air.

They pilfering the habitat of wild animals,

We were born to see them on the cusp of extinction.

Threw plastics wherever they wanted,

Leaving us to clean the drains.

Forgot fixing the leaky taps,

Leaving us to buy water at the price of gold.

Cut down trees to build industries,

And we were left to invent artificial gardens.

Polluted sacred rivers,

Of which we saw vengeance in various forms.

Burnt plastics despite knowing its adverse effects,

Waiting for us to eradicate it from the planet.

Forgot to turn off the lights in negligence and laziness,

And shoved us in caliginous darkness.

Of their ignorance and blunders,

We are staging a comeback.

The pain inflicted by them,

On us Mother Earth is showing fury.

If only we could go back in time,

And make them understand,

"Your negligence is creating a question mark on our existence."

Tears rolled down her innocent reflecting cheeks as she finished reading and those were her last words as she bid goodbye to this planet which her previous generations had dismantled.
