Human Sacrifice

Note: This story is based on Author’s fiction. It does not apply to any real-life incidents or true events. This story is my first experimentation work on the heist genre. Although a heist story, it also combines the elements of thriller, horror, and crime genres.

SEPTEMBER 27, 2022

KADAVANTHARA POLICE STATION, KERALA

8:30 PM

The time is exactly 8:30 PM. To the Kadavanthara police station in Kerala, a 42-year-old woman from Tamil Nadu, named Anjammal, went to file a complaint. She gave complaint that her sister Rajeswari was missing since yesterday. Initially, the police started investigating this as an ordinary case.

Sub-Inspector Tharun Sundar got the statement from her. 52-year-old Rajeswari who was told to be missing belongs to a village in the Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu. For the past 15 years, they took a room in Ernakulam in Kochi, Kerala and stayed there. They were living by selling lottery tickets at the South Railway station. Her husband's name is Rangan, and they have two children.

Daily, in the evening she’ll talk to her family on the phone. Since September 26^th, she didn’t pick up the phone. And she also never called back. They kept on trying and after some time the phone was switched off. Now at the station, the police also tried but still it was switched off. So, what did the police do first is, they started checking the CCTV footage.

SEPTEMBER 26, 2022

10:15 AM

On September 26^th, at 10:15 in the morning, it was recorded that Rajeswari went in a Scorpio car with an unknown person. So, the police started to look for who the car belongs to. Also, where did Rajeswari’s phone lost signal finally and also checked where her phone was switched off.

100 km away from Kochi, the signal was lost at a village called Elanthoor in Pathanamthitta.

So, Tharun Sundar asked Anjammal, who came to give the complaint, if there is anyone, she knows in Elanthoor.

“No sir. I don’t know anyone in that place.” And also added: “Anjammal never went this far away from Kochi, sir.” At last, Tharun and his co-officers started to see who was talking to Rajeswari on her mobile. And they found that Sulfaikar Ahmed was talking to her very often. Not only that, both Rajeswari and Sulfaikar’s phone was on the same signal on September 26. That is, it was in the same place.

When Rajeswari’s phone was switched off, it was found that Sulfaikar’s phone was also on the same tower in the same area at the same time. So, Tharun searched and found Sulfaikar. And he started to inquire about Rajeswari to him.

“I don’t know anyone like that sir.” Sulfaikar initially said this to Tharun. But after he showed the CCTV footage and mobile records, he started to tell what happened.

A FEW MONTHS BACK

ELANTHOOR, KERALA

(I adapt First-person narrative mode. That is, this story is explained from Sulfaikar’s point of view)

It all started here only. 67-year-old Ravi Singh and his 58-year-old wife Sheela, lived in a village called Elanthoor in Pathanamthitta. Ravi was a very-well known person among the people of that town. He was born in 1955 and did his schooling in Sri Narayana Dharma Paripalana Higher Secondary School and did his college at Thomas. He was a traditional healer who does Ayurvedic massage.

Not only that, but he was also a very active member of Facebook. He likes writing poems. He wrote haiku poems and shared them on his Facebook profile. What the Elanthoor panchayat president Mercy Mathew said about him is, “We have known this family for many years. They have been living here for so many years. Raj’s father was a very famous massage therapist. After he died, he was running his father’s business together with his wife. A lot of people with bone fractures and injuries will come and get treatment early in the morning. And his wife Sheela was not his first wife, his first wife was divorced and has two children who are abroad. They were a very normal family. But they have sacrificed two women, not only me all the people in the village couldn’t believe it.” She said this to a media channel, when the anchor asked him about Raj Singh.

But the mastermind for these murders is me, Rasheed alias Sulfaikar Ahmed. Now, I am 52-years old. I studied only up to the sixth standard and ran away from home at an early age. After that I travelled around many places and started doing whatever jobs he got. I was married and has children. I have worked in all districts of Kerala.

At present, Tharun asked Sulfaikar in the interrogation room: “Ok. How you met Rajeswari and Catherine?” To this, Sulfaikar laughed.

“I got opportunities to talk with different people. Finally, I was running a hotel. Rajeswari and Catherine, who often come to my hotel, have become accustomed to me.” 

When Tharun searched his record, they came to know, how cruel he is. More than 10 cases like theft cases, murder cases were already on him. Recently, in August 2020, he is accused of not only raping a 75-year-old woman, but also cutting her private part with a knife. By hurting like that, he experienced pleasure. In that rape and attempted murder case, I was there in jail for a year and then came out with bail. Tharun confronts him to talk about Rajeswari and Catherine further.

THREE MONTHS BACK

ELANTHOOR

(First-person narration continues. Again, it’s narrated by Sulfaikar)

To satisfy my sexual pleasure, I would go to any extreme. If I thought of anything in my mind, I would tell any story to make it happen. I was a tricky person and in the recent case also I did the same. By using others, I would commit sexual violence. Sometimes, I would manipulate others to do it. I planned these two human sacrifices before two years. That is in 2019. I created a fake profile on Facebook called Sridevi. In that profile bio, it was given like, contact me if you have any financial issues or problems.

That’s why in 2019, in the name of Sridevi I started to talk with Raj Singh saying that I love his haiku. But it doesn’t even have a picture of a real girl. It only has a picture of a flower. We were communicating only through text. Actually, to cat visit this Facebook profile, is to enjoy my sexual pleasure. I used it to select victims.

Raj Singh was tricked into it. I was talking to him for nearly 3 years and made both of them to listen blindly whatever I said to them. I started to talk about black magic. Already Raj Singh was in financial issues. So, Raj Singh said that he had some money issues to me thinking that “I am Sridevi in the Facebook chat.” In that, I said “I knew a magician called Rasheed.” And also added: “He was an expert in that.” That Rasheed is none other than me.

I came to Raj Singh’s house in the name of Rasheed. In a few days, I said to Raj Singh: “If you want to resolve your financial crisis, I should have sex with your wife Sheela. And you should see that.” Raj Singh and Sheela agreed to that.

Tharun Sundar and Commissioner Aravinth Sudheer, who were hearing this from Sulfaikar were extremely shocked upon hearing these events.

“This is very disgusting sir. I don’t know how they can be so stupid.” Tharun Sundar said to the Commissioner who asked Sulfaikar in the interrogation room to tell what happened in further.

AUGUST 2022

ELANTHOOR

(First-person narration continues. Again, it’s narrated by Sulfaikar)

After, few days later, I said to the couple: “If you want to become rich for a generation, you should give human sacrifice. People are ready for such sacrifice. I will bring them.” I said and got three lakhs of rupees from that couple. In June, to a woman called Catherine from Kottayam district, I said that “I will give 10 lakh rupees for acting in the adult film and brought her to Raj Singh’s house.” After that she was made to lie on the bed naked and started to tie her hands and legs.

After that, they blocked her mouth with a piece of cloth, and when she was unconscious, Sheela took a knife and inserted it into her private part. And when she started to scream in pain, they cut her neck and killed her. Raj took that knife and cut her chest. When the blood came from that, they made it run through the house. After that they cut her body into several pieces and buried that into the backyard behind their house by digging three pits during the night.

And above that they planted a turmeric plant. Catherine had a daughter named Angelina. And she was working as a teacher in Gujarat. Since she couldn’t contact her mother, she came to Kerala. On August 17^th, at Kalady Police station, she gave a complaint that her mother is missing since June 8^th. But the police couldn’t find a lead in that.

At the same time, after giving the human sacrifice, Raj and Sheela thought that they are going to be rich. But soon they realized that their issue was not resolved. So, they called me again and asked me: “Even after giving human sacrifice, nothing had happened. Why?”

“The first human sacrifice had only purified your sin. If you want to get money, give another human sacrifice, Raj Singh. Everything will be resolved.”

So, on September 26, What I did is, I targeted Rajeswari who was coming to my hotel regularly. Rajeswari settled in Kochi, Kerala before fifteen years with her husband. But before three months, her husband Rangan, who was 70-year-old, returned to Dharmapuri, because he couldn’t work anymore as he was aged.

“So, how she was trapped by you? Tell us.” Tharun Sundar asked Sulfaikar face-to-face in the room.

Sulfaikar gave an evil laugh and said what happened after he met Rajeswari.

SEPTEMBER 26, 2022

KOCHI, KERALA

From that, Rajeswari was alone in her room, what the lodge owner said is, “Rajeswari is the one who brought lot of customers to the hotel. But she won’t keep in contact with anyone. She will pay the rent 3,500 correctly every month. And she lived by selling lottery tickets.” That’s when I targeted Rajeswari, I said that: “I will give 15 thousand rupees for sex work and asked her to come to a place.” And she also agreed to that.

On September 26, at 10:15 in the morning, I took her in a Scorpio car, and went to Raj Singh’s house in Pathanamthitta at 4 in the evening. When Rajeswari was standing in the hall, she was attacked with a wooden log, and went unconscious. After that she was made to lie on the bed, and they cut her neck and inserted a knife in her private part.

Raj Singh took the blood from it and sprinkled it all over the house like holy water. After that they cut her body into 5 pieces. And they cooked and ate her ribs. Why because I said that “If they eat it, they will remain young forever.” We cut the first victim into 56 pieces, and the second victim Rajeswari into 5 pieces, and buried that by digging lots of pits in Raj’s backyard.

After hearing what he said, not only the police and people of Kerala but the whole of India was shocked. Why because, even the police didn’t know till then that they were investigating such a big case.

“CCTV footage and mobile signal helped so much to solve this case. Tharun and his police team were searching for Padma, by seeing CCTV. They came to know that she went in a Scorpio car. So, when they were tacking that car by using CCTV, finally they found that, they went to a village called Elanthoor. The phone signal also pointed there only.” Commissioner Aravinth Krishna said in a press meet, on September 28^th, 2022.

FEW DAYS LATER

OCTOBER 9, 2022

Meanwhile, Tharun Sundar and the police force checked the CCTV of Raj’s neighbor's house. When they saw that they came to know that the Scorpio had passed through their house. On that day itself, two police officers from Aranmula police station, started to surveillance Raj Singh’s house. After that, on the10^th Monday at 7:00 AM, the Kochi police team reached there. Exactly when Raj Singh and his wife Sheela went out, Commissioner stopped them in front of their house itself.

They started to investigate for the next four hours. Finally, they showed where they buried them. On the same day, at noon itself, Aravinth took them into custody. On the next day morning, i.e., Tuesday they were brought to Kochi. After that only public and media came to know about that. Now that buried body parts was sent to Kottayam Medical college for Autopsy.

EPILOGUE

Kerala CM, High court, has registered their displeasure as to where Kerala is travelling towards. Though there are a lot of educated people in Kerala, this case is another example to understand that all those who are educated are not intelligent. How a normal family, like an old couple next to our house, who was an Ayurvedic healer, to become rich in their life, not only Rajeswari, but also a lady called Catherine, before that, a total of two people was tricked and made to come to their home and was killed brutally by torturing them. Was cut into 56 pieces, and cooked and ate their genitals. Who are these people? Why did they do this? What happened to Rajeswari and Catherine after going inside that house? The remand copy, which was submitted in the court by the police, was accessed by News 18 and released its details. To present this case in detail to you, I had referred to and researched a lot of articles and mentioned them here. To ban this type of idiotic superstitious belief, if you think logically these types of things won’t happen.
