It is said that “Friend in need is a friend indeed.” But it is not necessary to have friends of your age. Friendship has no boundation of age, religion or gender. This story is something like that.

Sukhu was a small, cheerful, beautiful, happy going kind of a girl. She was quite a mature girl even though she was only seven years old. She was very close to her father. And the father was also spending a lot of time with her after he came back from his work. He used to enhance her knowledge by telling her motivational stories and also through discussion on various topics. Her father was a member of Theosophical Society and used to go there every alternate Sunday to attend the meetings. It was the place where the intellectuals used to come to discuss the philosophy of different religions. Sukhu also used to accompany her father and developed a lot of interest in these meetings. At this tender age, she learned a lot about Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and other religions. She started taking interest in doing meditation.

One could see a strange friendship between the two. There was no age boundation between them. Sukhu used to treat her father as if he was of her age. Both of them were fond of playing chess together. As she grew, she became more attached to her father as the mother used to be busy with her household chores or with her friends. When she was ten years old, she used to be alone in the afternoon after coming back from school. She used to kill her time by talking to the four walls of her room thinking as if these were alive. In the evening her father was his best friend.

One Sunday afternoon she was waiting for her father to come home but he didn’t turn up. At around 4 'o clock her mother got information that he met with an accident. Both of them got scared but it was a minor accident and her uncle had taken him to hospital and after getting stitches brought him back home. Sukhu was all the time taking care of him after coming back from her school. She had good management skills. She was giving her time on studies also. She was quite a brilliant child. That was the thing that he liked the most in her.

Her father had developed some special powers in him as a result of meditation and prayers to God. He got powers to judge a person by touching his belongings like handkerchief etc. even without meeting the person. When Sukhu turned fourteen, her father asked her to do meditation along with him for an hour. After that, he held her hand and chanted something with closed eyes and passed her the positive energy. When both of them opened their eyes. Sukhu felt some positive energy in her. Within few days she started getting visions. She had some close classmates who started asking her about their future. Sukhu used to discuss everything with her father. Now he was happy that she was enjoying the positive energy in her. He advised her to use this energy for the betterment of needy persons. Whenever some of her friends used to get sick, she used to give them medicines from her own hands which showed great effect. Even their parents started talking about her magical power.

One day she came to know that one of her classmates got fever. She was poor and lived by the side of railway track in one room set. She had no father. Her mother used to work as domestic help. She had to get her treatment from Govt. hospital as she had no money. Her studies also got affected. The same night she got a vision that she would die if she was not given a special treatment required. This involved a lot of money. In the morning she told her father about this. Her father gave her some money but that was not enough. She requested her friends and neighbors and collected some money. Immediately after collecting money she rushed to her classmate and met her mother. She gave her money and asked her to contact the private doctor. For a week she used to go to her house after school and used to discuss all the work she had done in the school. Her efforts brought good result. Her classmate got well and thanked Sukhu. After this incident, both of them became fast friends. The other rich girls who used to hate the poor classmate also started talking to her. That is how our Sukhu was.
