A Glass of Milk

It was mid of November , the streets and roads were covered with shiny snow. Everyone was muddling up in their houses, no one was seen outside. While all others were nice and cozy, a small boy was seen shoveling snow to earn a few pennies for his supper - which he rarely used to get. He was an orphan, not cared for. He wasn't even named so he had to do it himself. He named himself 'Oaron' since he liked the letter 'O'. He was thin and pale. His body was shivering as he didn't have proper clothing.

He was exhausted after doing his tiresome job and that too in extreme climate. He thought of asking a glass of water from a house nearby. But, he was hesitating to do it. At last he gathered courage and proceeded. He knocked the door waited for someone to answer it. A middle-aged woman opened the door and said," Oh, Hello there! How can I help you? She looked quit kind. Oaron replied " umm. . . . I'm really thirsty and tired, May I get a glass of water". The woman felt pity on him and went inside asking him to come in. She returned with a hot-steamy glass in her hands. She held it out to Oaron. Oaron gently took the glass and peered into it. He found fresh milk in it. He was taken back . He refused for it but the woman compelled Oaron to have it. He felt fully satisfied as, the hot milk rolled down into his empty stomach. He thanked the woman from the bottom of his heart and then he left. . . . . .

Years passed by and Oaron grew up. He was adopted by a couple who had no children. He was well educated. The woman was now in a very serious condition. She was suffering from a rare type of cancer. She in fact was a widow and had only a daughter. The treatment for her disease was very costly. She was admitted in a hospital in the city. Her condition went from bad to worse.

She went under serious treatment but was cured due to the doctor's effort. After getting well, she worried about the bill she had to pay. A nurse came into the room and handed over the bill to the lady . To her amazement, the amount she had to pay was already paid by someone. She was shocked, she knew that she couldn't afford to pay the bill. But who did it?

As she read the bill further keenly, she found a note . It said," A glass of MILK has paid for your bill.

At first she understood nothing, but then she found out that it was Oaron was the doctor who treated her and saved her as well as paid her bill.
