Super Hero

Once I was going to Delhi by Shatabdi Express from Lucknow, where I met an IPS officer who was my co-passenger. As we crossed Kanpur he began to ask my career, education, future plans. He made me comfortable with his sweet manner of talking. He narrated a very interesting story of his career.

Then I asked him, “Have you heard of famous Dr. Shankar”, who was a famous cardiologist and popular for his magic tricks. In the meantime his another IPS officer Ravi asked me, “how you know him?” then I replied, “He was the senior student of my school”. Often we found him surrounded by students. Whom he used to tell interesting real experiences of his life. How he helped a drowning boy who came with his grandfather.

His grandfather was purchasing bhelpuri for him and calling his name “Shyamu Shyamu”. In the meantime Shankar was passing through the river as he saw Shyamu, he at once sensed he will fell down and will be drowned if not saved. He thought to catch him but somebody pushed him to the river, he immediately saved him from drowning and took to his grandfather. And said, “please don't let him go near the river”. His grandfather was very thankful to him. But Shyamu asked him too, “Bhaiya, how do you know I will be drowned?”. Shankar smiled and walked away.

 In the meantime, Ravi and other passengers also joined us, Dr. Shankar had a unique talent of knowing the happenings of incidents in advance. He used to help his classmates,friends and even strangers to avert the unpleasant situations. Once he alerted his school principal to keep a vigil on the room where the exam papers were kept, can be theft that night. The altered principal made arrangements. At midnight two disguised boys tried to unlock the room and were caught red-handed. The principal declared him Superhero.

All my co-passengers were listening carefully. One of them asked,”What happened after that incident?”. I narrated, next day principal sir showered praises for his prompt action. He asked,” How he knew it in advance?”. The police officer was impressed and surprised how he could know. But he kept silent because it was a secret that he could not tell. He was not supposed to reveal it to anybody.

One of my co-passenger was an army officer who narrated a very stunning story of an army officer who was martyred during ride in Pakistan war. Indira Gandhi honored Bangladesh as a separate country. Major Rajendra Singh lost his life but near India and Pakistan border soldiers still hear the echo of voice horse tapping and Major Rajendra Singh riding on a horse, keeping vigil of on border.

In the meantime, the staff of the train were listening carefully. Everyone was struck in awe and surprise.

Ravi asked,”Could anybody try to conquer his magical treats and oracles?”. When Shankar became a doctor his father told his doctor friends, ”Please keep it to yourself otherwise he will not be able to prophecy”. He will be in danger and clueless. Shankar might not help in future. Shankar’s father narrated that when Shankar was ten years old. He met an old poor man who was dying with thirst. Shankar gave his water bottle to drink water and gave some biscuits to eat. He tried to help him in every possible manner. He tried to console him and said, “Baba I am with you. I will take care of you alone until you feel better”. That old man blessed him with a crystal ball in which he clearly could see in future incidents that can occur, you can be happy and as well as sad. The old man instructed him not to tell anybody of this magic ball from your mouth otherwise it will stop working. You are an honest boy try to help your friends, neighborhood and even strangers. You will be enriched with well wishes and blessings of everyone.

His father told further. It has one disadvantage that crystal ball stops working during sunset and sunrise. It is multicolored, its red light indicates danger in the vicinity of one kilometer. When blue light of disease can happen in an area of one kilometer. Greenlight indicates some pleasant news like good results of students, marriage and newborn babies.

As the ball is multicolored Shankar had to keep a multicolored handkerchief with him. He used to sleep on multicolored sheet as advised by the poor man. It helped him to catch the indication of lights. He had to keep the ball near him always.

Once an incident took place in his neighborhood. Though his neighbor did not know about the crystal ball yet he knew his oracle abilities. He scolded Shankar for not warning him for the accident in advance. He kept quiet but his father understood because the accident occurred during sunset so he could not register the incident, otherwise, he was very caring and helping.

Shankar became cardiologist as his mother wanted him to be a doctor who can help others in need. He became a famous doctor who cured many patients with care and dignity. He used to operate patients during the daytime so he can take advantage of the crystal ball. Very few people knew his crystal ball story.

Now we approached near Ghaziabad. My co-passengers were impressed and thanked me for this pleasant, surprising, mysterious but the real story of Dr. Shankar. He was a superhero. One of the passenger called him an angel. Subodh who was listening called him. Godsend doctor who took care of poor patients. Some passengers were asking his address. Some were curious does he still possess a crystal ball.

It is true God blesses those who help others and perform their duties with sincerity and dignity. God resides with truth.
