How We Inherit Morals

“What is the best thing about being a parent?” my friend asked me.

“You become a better child of your parents.” I told him, smiling while looking at my daughter.

My parents had done their part to imbibe morals in me and now it was my turn to imbibe them in my daughter. Obviously, they were one who inspired me for that.

The most important moral which my parents taught me was self-esteem, other morals being honesty, loyalty, standing up for truth and thanking God for being kind on me.

I raised my daughter keeping in view how my parents raised me up.

On times, she proved me that upbringing was on track. But the ultimate test was when she was leaving home after getting married.

I told her, “Remember, I am always with you.”

“I know, dad. Physically we might be far away but the morals you imbibed in me, will always be in heart and brain. Thank you for making the person who I am today. I inherent these morals from you and shall pass on them to my children. You are my inspiration.” She said.

I was confirmed that I was successful as a parent and hence a successful child of my parents.
