2020 - A Year That Was
2020 - A Year That Was
Barely we got done wishing each other Happy New Year
The world engulfed with Covid 19, Oh Dear!
Cyclone Amphan left its own huge trails of devastation
Then came desert locust causing massive crop destruction
With people losing their jobs all over
Panic and distress, far from over
Economy sliding down,a problem globally
World war 3 still looming over strongly.
All this, bringing out the worst among people
An increase in the domestic violence
Rising animal abuse causing tense.
Mental health a concern too under lens.
Wait, 2020 saw some blessings in disguise too
Mother Earth breathed freely while we stayed home bored
Dolphins brought in some corals to the shore
Animals moved freely, the roads otherwise polluted with honking noise.
2020 a year with some lessons too.
Grasped the difference between our luxury and need
Live a life simple with just 3 basic needs
A year not to ask God for all that you fought
Rather a year to be appreciative of all that you've got.
A year which taught us how much we depend on one another.
A year which taught us the well-being of us lies in the well-being of others.
A year which brought in some family bonding time
Giving some value to 'Family' time and 'Me' time.
Stuck at home, unleashed our talent and creativity
Turning old hobbies into new passions
Old guitar came out dusted and tuned.
Paintings started years ago finally done
Showing our culinary skills on delicacies which were earlier called.
Cleaning , watching TV and sleeping were now much fun
This is the year which brought in work from home.
Blessing for those tired of traveling, now work at and from home
A year filled with challenges and difficulties
Came with its own pain and miseries
Situation and circumstances however be, deal it with cool and no rant
Rather ease in a way you felt you can't.
A year with loads of pain, some blessings and lessons too.
Remember it's a lifelong experience and memories for all, me and you.
