A Far-fetched Dream
A Far-fetched Dream
In wistful days and starry nights she'd come to me in my dreams
With her eyes of China blue she’d speak of love.
And days would come and nights would pass,
As I would think how long it’d last
As she comes like a winter breeze in the dreamy nights
As the stars shine bright.
With a dream of love and a nimble stride I’d pull her into my adoring arms, so tender, so white and pale,
Is she the one, my holy grail.
And as time goes by in the southern land,
She flies away like a storm of sand.
For all I see it’s gloomy and done,
But just maybe she wasn't the one.
And with this anguish in my heart,
I think of it right from the start,
Saying if she was the only one
who painted your lips red but left you in agony soon after
Maybe she wasn't the one
If she was your sunshine
But soon turned into a blood tainted twilight
Maybe she wasn't the one.
If she was the reason for all your high's
But soon turned into the depths of the lonely curves of your body laying alone under the murky sky
Maybe she wasn't the one.
If she was the one who drove you, but then drove far far away
Eloping to the land where your feelings now lay
Maybe she wasn't the one.
If you still feel she's your heartbeat
When she left with your throbbing heart in hand
Maybe, just maybe you weren't the one.
