A Nights Sleep
A Nights Sleep
Wishing myself “Sweet dreams”,
I fell asleep in 2019
And exactly at 10:30
But I woke up in 2020 at 7:50
I didn't remember a single thing,
Only heard happy noises of people,
Laughing and shouting.
Ran downstairs to check out mom and dad,
Only found my older brother,
The twenty-year-old bad-tempered lad;
He was sitting on the couch eating chipotle,
Being from a brown family
I said to him “Thoda news dekhle”
Again went upstairs to grab my phone,
"Huh," said my brother in a louder tone,
Lying on my bed, checking my Twitter,
And that made me angry and bitter,
At the end of the day,
He had an electricity bill to pay,
But watching was America’s talents,
Suddenly my brain sort of exploded
When I thought
About my missing parents.
My parents arrived with air-tickets,
I knew we were bound for the States.
