A Prayer For The Afflicted

Lord I pray to you with humility,

To make me serve the afflicted,

To make me their benefactor and messiah.

Lord make me the instrument,

Of their peace and happiness.

Where there is sorrow,

Let me sow the seeds of love!

Where there is injury,

Let me apply the balm of pain!

Where there is doubt and confusion,

Let me restore faith and confidence!

Where there is gloom and despair,

Let me usher in hope and optimism!

Where there is darkness,

Let me be the torchbearer!

Where there is sadness,

Let me bring joy and laughter!!
