A Soldier
A Soldier
How dashing I looked when I gazed to the mirror
Cap on my head with badges on my shoulder.
Name on the chest posing with my gun
First day on my duty this is how I did fun.
Assuring my wife that I’ll be back
Promising my new born daughter to bring truck of toys’ pack.
Blessed by neighbours with my dad and mom
Unknown of the fact when I’ll be back to my home.
Unknown of the fact of my life
Unknown of the place to survive.
But extra happiness for serving my nation
At cost of my life fighting with full aggression.
I know everyone will cry on my death
Cursing the one who took away my breath.
But then my eyes will be closed
And lips will be shut.
Uniform on my body
But breath had been cut.
My friends will miss me of what time we had
But my ears will search for the voice of my lil princess
Calling me “DAD”.
A mother will lose her son,
A wife will lose her husband.
A sister will lose her brother,
And a nation will lose a soldier.
