A Song
A Song
It lit up the night-sky,
Its light poured through the cracks and fissures
In my prison, in my fortress of solitude.
Lighting up my walls,
Bearing with it warmth.
Its touch drew out my love
And in that moment my heart raced;
In that instant I longed for its embrace.
As my walls came crashing,
My ears traced the trail.
My face lit up like the Sun.
This mystery far above me,
Its intricacies beyond me.
In awe of its divine beauty
My heart melted.
My knees weak,
The ground grew closer to support me.
My mind clear for the first time.
I had only one desire.
If only,
To be one with this euphoria.
To be lost in it forever.
My shame, my pride
Fading like the mist;
Missing, driven by the wind.
As its breath captured my soul
Its color called my hope.
Its presence, its Aura felt like home.
A fire in my bones,
An all-consuming passion.
Its melody,
Its chorus transcends time.
Its wordings beyond rhyme.
And I,
Ever thirsty for emotion,
Ever hungry for expression,
I’m simply satisfied
By a song.
