ABOARD A TIME MACHINE (Week: 37 Theme: Time Travel)
ABOARD A TIME MACHINE (Week: 37 Theme: Time Travel)
Travelling back to the past, is always an emotional rollercoaster
History is, of course, the past but not only
Memories play against each other in our mind’s amphitheater
Many of us would love to board a time machine happily.
If we could see the future in a glass goblet,
If we could prepare ourselves for the coming days,
Our future is pre-ordained, much like a woman’s anklet –
Future is inevitable – preparation isn’t possible in any manner or ways.
Months and years are marked in a calendar
We flip back and forth until a new one arrives,
Let us go back to lost time – to the days of Great Alexander,
He’d arrived to plunder, like one who deliberately connives.
Family albums are a popular means of time travel,
There, we see memories frozen in photographic marvel,
Historic paintings are auctioned off, under sound of a gavel
We search around for love now, our houses are like dog’s kennel.
All of us love to travel – in time – back and forth
Books are also a means of travel, we get enmeshed in word’s worth.
