Approaching Winter
Approaching Winter
The night was darkened coldly
The moon shone from the corner
With a star, if left alone
Which shined brightly
The night was aloof
If wandered crudely
Hearty the lane felt
As the yellow petals fell like dew
Or the drops which rained
Or like the sunshine when it endured
It wasn't yet too cold
But the breeze was crispy
But not enough to be frozen
But sufficient to make you feel winter is approaching
The flowers which comprehended
Into the winter tide swiftly progressed
There might not snow here
But enough to stop dead all activities
Alas, the morning dews
Completely round off the winter vibes...
