Balance Of A Mother
Balance Of A Mother
She laughed; her children played,
Food for them was never delayed,
She giggled; they danced about,
She took care of them, no doubt.
Then, instead of caring for her,
As they grew, they pulled her hair,
They took more and more,
Began ruining things everywhere.
She cried, she screamed, but no one heard,
Years passed and just as she feared,
She begged, before it was too late,
Her children were now filled with greed and hate.
Then, she no longer had any mirth,
An eye for an eye, she kicked up the dirt,
Then, she gave as good as she got,
She yielded no more and fought the lot.
Flooding for deforestation,
Droughts for land and water pollution,
Earthquakes for over construction,
Extinction for the ugly plastic revolution.
Mother Earth was she, who always gave,
But if her children do misbehave,
Her nature; a mother, of balance and might,
'Tis but her duty to make the wrongs right.
