Battles Fought Within
Battles Fought Within
Painful pangs of Hypocrisy,
Hurt us the most, almost,
Shattering the inner being,
To uneven pieces, sometimes,
Even scrambling them in a fashion,
That it takes long to reckon the pattern.
Determined as we are to count,
More summers before we depart,
We live through all that,
While others bestow credit,
To our resilience, little knowing,
The saga of suffering,
We had been through.
Those small battles fought within,
Oft cleanse our conscience and,
Get us ready for bigger battles,
In the journey ahead, raising alarms,
Every time sufferings stifle our being.
