Deal With The Devil

Deal With The Devil

Their lover tastes of soy milk and cherries, wings dipped in acrylic white liquorice.

Truth drips from the corner of their grace-filled mouths

As their arms defy gravity to use the back of their hands to wipe it.

Sculptures made of soft satin clouds encircle their house of the sanctuary.

The opulence in their fountains oozing milk and syrup.

All in all, they’re seraphic.

But you, my lover, are liquified obscenity poured into a sippy cup.

You masquerade needles as your bait for a heart that’s yet to be woven.

Your mouth lays flat on my collarbones as you pierce through my skin and paint me yours.

You’ve got night flesh; you wane effulgent in the blue dark and I am set ablaze in it.

Lover, what is it that differs you from others?

So meet me in the hallways beyond heaven and hell.

Where goodness is cast out and evil does not exist.

We will paint constellations and sunsets out of the ashes of your fallen wings.

When the world is hellbent on proclaiming good,

Meet me in the hallways beyond heaven and hell and drown me in your limerence.

Hellfire doesn’t scare me, heaven isn’t all that great anyway.

Cause lover, after all, I made a deal with the devil.
