Children Stories Drama Others

Be Flaw-some!

Be Flaw-some!

To every child who was diagnosed with the malady of being ‘shy’

And every adult who was called stone-cold because their tears had gone dry

For every strong girl who was shrugged off as a ‘tomboy’

And every curious child who was called ‘difficult’ when he was truly a bundle of joy

It’s time we see things in a new perspective and put them in their place

Let’s bring our blemishes, dark spots, and weaknesses out

And give them a tight embrace

We are all built differently,

A composite of nerves, emotions, and feelings galore

It is unfair to compare an apple to an orange,

We are fundamentally different from the core.

One may have razor-sharp logic and precision

While another may sparkle when you need a quick decision

Someone has oodles of charisma and wit

Yet others amaze you with their sincere empathy and grit

The world is getting smaller now, a really networked place

And people add value with skills, attributes, talents, personality and grace

Gen Z, in this new decade, let’s stop being ‘awesome’

In 2020, you take the lead, let’s show the world how to be ‘flawsome.’

Stay true to the ‘real self’ and find purpose and beauty within

Shine bright from your soul, let the world light up with a grin

Reflect, introspect and focus on what leads to contentment

Let love prevail over ego, let’s build a world without resentment.

Flawsome is awesome, it talks about human potential

Why add one by one, when growth can be exponential?

To every child who was told “you are shy” and there’s something wrong,

Let’s change the narrative and say, “Yes. I am shy. Now, can we move along?”
