Being Me
Being Me
Odes and tales on me are befitting of books
I am a woman who will adore them
Romanticize and ruminate may be
But I see through hollow words
Do not confine me to a book
I am the ink that will float above paper
And splash your wall with colors
Sit up and brighten your life
Do not confine me to a song
For I am every lyric that tunes carry
I will infuse music into listless lives
Enjoy the melody when your soul lulls
Do not confine me to ignorance
For my wisdom surpasses ages
I am the elixir you seek
Quench your thirst for sanity
Do not confine me to your heart
For my love is magnanimous
I will shower it on fertile and arid lands alike
Cherish it and heal when in agony
Do not confine me to this world
For, I am the sun of fragile planets
I have universes to protect and nourish
Revolve around me to sustain and grow
Unchain me from unreal expectation
Release me from trivial bondage
But this freedom you supposedly give,
Was mine to take when I pleased
But I refrained, in hope that you will see me
For all that I was, I am and I will ever be
For the simplicity and magnificence,
of just being me.
