Bluebirds

Bluebirds

Today morning, as the bluebirds try

To wake up a slothful sun,

I re-learn silence

After all, have left and gone.

I stare at the balcony from my bedroom,

Casting a longing look at the swing

Where most memories were made.

I count the purple beads

Of an invisible rosary --

Fragile, like tears un-shed.

You give me bluebirds

Of bliss and I run a finger over

Calm turquoise feathers.

I hand you

My scarlet garnet ring

Of cravings, you promise

Me fair weather.

Our soft twilight blend

Brings forth stars

In evenings quietly spread--

In tranquillity we exist;

Together, we partake

Of holy bread.
