Can I Hope
Can I Hope
Can I hope, in my creed,
For a rhyme to match my need?
A single whisper, so sublime,
To dance with me in perfect time.
A melody to be ornamental,
And make my heart feel so gentle,
Like a random beat of a drum,
Filling me with joy and fun.
My mind is full of wonder,
Questions that I long to ponder,
And still my heart won't give up,
It knows I'll find my way, no matter what.
Silence is my ally,
My weapon to which I rely,
It's a privilege that I cherish,
A compromise that won't perish.
To be alone but not lonely,
Is it better than having many?
It's a chance, a dilemma,
One that I'll solve with stupendous charisma.
My words are like a harlequin's dress,
Dancing in a farandole's recess,
But my pen will never be isolated,
For I know my destiny is fated.
I'll give thanks to God in heaven,
For the chance of a new life given,
My soul will be incorporeal,
But my senses will be ethereal.
