Clichés And Heartbreaks

Hearts are fragile but they are repairable and sometimes they repair themselves.

These days we get our hearts broken more often than ever, a picture can break hearts.

Even a statement, a film scene, a visual, a word, a social media post and whatnot.

Yet we cry for only one heartbreak while ignoring all those because those breaks are self-repairable. 

Almost every poet, writer has blown heartbreaks out of its proportions. 

The same worn-out shirt/t-shirt, 

The memories that linger behind, echoes of laughter settled in the corner, coffee doesn't taste the same forget better,

His breath on the neck gives goosebumps,

The same old jasmine plant at the backyard,

Those crackling of wind chimes,

And books with multiple dogeared pages.

And many many more such clichés are so much overused that heartbreak poems and stories all sound like clichés.

And then there are some who neither write nor read any of such kind, they can't find enough words to knit together.

What about those heartbreaks! I once asked a senior of mine, "Tell me about the girl you loved?"

He smiled with his eyes and said, "There is nothing to tell. There are way better love stories to read, and watch. Mine is not that special."

I insisted and he said, "For me, love meant only her. I don't know what happened before we loved and after we were done with love."

He doesn't even know her whereabouts, but he is content with the fact that he had been in love once in his life.

Those heartbreaks are secured like treasures in their hearts, every now and then they water them incase they dry up. So a leaf always finds its way on top of it.
