Colour Me Saffron
Colour Me Saffron
As the sun sets with an orange hue,
My mind beset, with memories of you,
I light a lamp, I say a prayer
I send good thoughts, your way, my dear.
The day begins with a brilliant glow,
Banishing darkness that the night does throw,
The sun with its myriad shades of orange,
Reminds me daily of your strength and courage.
Swami Vivekananda, attired in his saffron hood,
Before his statue, you and I stood,
Holding my hand, his words you preached,
“Arise, Awake, and stop not till the goal is reached”
The saffron of our national flag you embody,
As valiantly on the front, you fight,
#IforIndia is the mantra you carry,
When you guard our borders day and night.
In every letter to you, I send a plea,
Stay safe Mama and come back soon to me,
With courage in the heart and a brave smile,
Your loving daughter awaits thee.
