Cycle
Cycle
This is a story from long ago,
A young girl wished to learn
To ride a bicycle.
But her strict father did not allow
She wondered if her gender
Was liable.
She was a good daughter.
So she readily accepted
Her father’s choice.
She was married to a man
Whom she had never seen
Nor heard his voice.
She was a good wife,
Reliable and responsible,
Her persona of beauty.
She was beside her husband,
In times good and bad,
Able in her duties.
As the family was prospering,
‘She is a blessing,’
Her husband claimed.
Now she rides in cars
That is expensive
Of famously named.
