Do not let despair to dominate

One elephant was powerful,

He was obedient, sensible and skillful.

He was used on the battle field in wars, and

He was returning after being victorious,

For which the king had liking for the elephant,

He was treated by the king as relevant.

Time passed,

The elephant became old,

He could not perform as before,

But the King was treating him such as before.

The king on one event sent him to the battlefield,

As a part of the king's team in the battlefield,

One day the elephant went to a lake to drink water,

His feet got into the mud and water, and

The elephant went on sinking,

He could not escape himself from the mud though trying.

People came to know that the elephant was in trouble,

The news reached the king by the people,

The king went to the spot,

Where people were gathered around the elephant,

All made various efforts to get him out,

After engagement for a long time, there was no way out.

At that time, Gautama Buddha was passing by,

He stopped to see,

He inspected the site of the incident, and

Then he suggested to the king,

That the battle drums must be singing,

The listeners felt shocked at the suggestion,

All thought it as bizarre suggestion.

Gautam Buddha himself started playing the drums, and

As soon as hearing the song of such battle drums,

There appeared a change in the elephant’s gestures,

His behaviour and

The troubled elephant found restoration of his determination.

At first, the elephant slowly stood up,

Then gradually used his force and

He used his intelligence,

He came out of the mud on his own,

It made astonished everyone.

Gautama Buddha smiled and said:

There was no lack of physical ability in the elephant,

There was only need to infuse enthusiasm in the elephant,

Motivation and Will within,

It rouses hope and enthusiasim within.

So it is a universal rule of life,

There is necessity of hope,

To maintain enthusiasm in life,

It is necessary that

A human is to maintain purposeful thinking and

He should not let despair to dominate his thoughts,

And in tough times of life,

One needs to keep Hope,

And hope would create enthusiasm in mind,

To celebrate abundance of

Joy, Health & Happiness in mind,

Such state of mind brings a person that
