Don'T Say Anything
Don'T Say Anything
Do not speak aloud, Whisper!
Lighter, so you can hear the crickets
And wolves, among the sharp reeds.
Do not lie under guava tree near tube well
Or roam around it.
They say,
Whirling summer wind is nothing
But a djinn.
Is it not forbidden to climb old bargad?
Are you not aware of its deity?
You know of mango orchard
At the fringes of village.
But what of it’s ghosts?
An escape to city
From myths of orchards, tube well, and guava tree,
She came to city.
But came along the djinns and deities,
Came to offices, colleges, dark roads, cities
And everywhere else.
