Elegy for EMC: A Sister's Love

You dwell in the dearest place of my heart, 

I swear forever I will miss our mirthful art,

It hurt us all on your sudden farewell day,

Speechless, I stand, no words to convey.

The wisdom of thoughts lies small under her feelings,

The musings of a great poetess, are deeply appealing,

The air around us filled with unheard music,

Her pen's words still echo, our thoughts it does pick.

She advised us in our faults, inspired with love and fancy,

For one comment given, she returned two, a poetic dance,

Once the smile faded, I saw her hidden pain,

A strong tower you stood, a mountain in life's terrain.

Generously, she read most poets' work with grace,

Her short comments, her trademark, in every place,

The calmness of nature reflected in her thoughts,

Like an eclipse on our smiles, her absence brought.

A place apart from the struggles of womankind,

Your life was spent in kindness, a love entwined,

I exhausted my pen, penning these words,

Can tears bring you back, or buy life with worldly shards?

Your memory lives on, forever in our hearts,

As we bid farewell, cherishing the poetic arts.
